That second set basically took it out of her. I just don't think it was ever a realistic proposition.I expected her to be more competitive than Venus is.
I wonder if they'll both be at the US Open.
I really hope the overall response and narrative is less cynical than this.My guess is she did it to promote whichever brand of fat loss injections she seems to be flogging.
I thought with the champion mentality she possesses she might have made it to the third/fourth round. Glad Joint won though.Realistically did anyone expect her to get past the first round?![]()
Honestly I thought 4 years away from the game and 2 kids would have chilled her out a bit but that interview with Claire Balding said otherwise."A Bit Petty" is part of the Serena DNA (and low-key hilarious).
It can never be said enough!we know, you say it often!

Naomi is playing SO well. those serve percentages... I think she'll be much more competitive against Sabalenka in round 4 this time.

Gasanova is a big supporter of Russia in the current war, so I was hoping for a 6-0 6-0Naomi is playing SO well. those serve percentages... I think she'll be much more competitive against Sabalenka in round 4 this time.

Venus has way more of a love of the game than Serena. I don't think she's ever been close to many players off the court, but she knows everyone's games, she follows results, she's as up on tour gossip as anyone. I can totally imagine sitting with Venus to watch a couple of lesser known players slug it out on court for fun.![]()
Wimbledon 2026: Serena Williams injures knee and a doubt to play doubles with sister Venus
Serena Williams' hopes of playing alongside her older sister Venus in the Wimbledon doubles look in doubt because of a knee injury.www.bbc.co.uk
The Beeb should replace Bouchard with Venus now.
I saw some of her appearances on the US coverage of Roland Garros and I thought she was wonderful. She had great insight and came across so well.Venus has way more of a love of the game than Serena. Also whoever is in charge of the coverage clearly doesn't have a clue

BBC wanted Andrew Castle to stay past 2026 Wimbledon men’s final
The BBC’s director of sport has insisted that he wanted Andrew Castle to stay as part of the Wimbledon’s commentary team amid the fallout from the broadcaster’s departurewww.theguardian.com
Maybe they think that all social media engagement is good, despite the fact that if you search for “Andrew Castle” at any given moment, it brings up 90%+ negative opinions.@ZenGiraffe getting this face of Jelena as a MOOPMOJI would beEveryone assuming that's the 4th round match, but there's a dangerous unseeded player looming next for Sabs...

Coco won, but despite her breakthrough coming at Wimbledon, grass is clearly her weakest surface.Coco fought for her LIFE to snatch that tiebreak. she played a defensive point at 7-7 so good it really must be seen to be believed
