Does this mean we'll be able to buy our Princess Diana Memorials in a NFT format instead of a cheap coin?

That one looks more like Judy Murray.

Regarding conversion therapy, Mermaids have a tool on their site that lets you easily email your local MP asking them to include trans and NB people in the ban:
Please sign and share!
Dear lolly,

Thank you for your email about the Government’s conversion ‘therapy’ ban, which it has now announced it will only be implementing partially. I’ve had many constituents contact me with concerns about this over recent days. The strength of feeling among people living in Bristol East is clear.

Conversion ‘therapy’ attempts to repress, ‘cure’ or change a person’s sexual orientation and/or gender identity – so it’s very disappointing to hear that the Government now plans to only ban the practice in respect to sexual orientation and not gender identity. It adopted this stance after plans to abandon its pledged ban were leaked on 31st March, on Trans Day of Visibility no less. I cannot begin to understand why trans and non-binary identities have been singled out and removed from this ban, or indeed why, if press reports are to be believed, the Government wavered over introducing any conversion ‘therapy’ ban at all.

It’s shameful to hear that the Government has now had to cancel its ‘Safe to be Me’ LGBT+ conference which was due to take place later this year, after over 100 LGBT+ supportive organisations pulled out of attending. Labour leader Keir Starmer has accused the Government of “flip-flopping” in abandoning its promise and has said that conversion ‘therapy’ in all its forms should be banned.

I completely agree and find it reprehensible that even ‘anti-transgender conversion therapy’ that names itself as such, without disguising its true intentions as many courses do, would currently remain legal under the Government’s plans. I’ve been contacted by several trans constituents who have outlined their worries that this partial ban will not protect them and others like them from this cruel form of psychological harm. Other constituents have raised concerns about other gender and sexual minorities which have been under-discussed in relation to the ban, for example asexual identities, and worry about how this will affect them too.

I have now written to the Minister for Women and Equalities, outlining arguments from constituents such as yourself and asking her to fully commit to implementing a ban on conversion ‘therapy.’ I will let you know when I receive a response from her and I thank you once again for getting in touch about this important issue.

Best wishes,

Kerry McCarthy
Labour MP for Bristol East

Awful language. I can’t bear the thought of a general election fought on this sort of culture war crap.

I hope the moronic British public don’t fall for it.

So Boris has officially come out as a TERF. Fuckwit.

He doesn’t know or care what that is, he’s just appealing to his Daily Fail base who will LOVE this. It’s the perfect way to put all his party gate stuff behind him - right-wing his way back into the arms of the pensioners and blue collar Brexiteers who are fickle enough to buy it

It's so fucking reductive and lowest common denominator politics, isn't it? Utterly depressing.

The whole thing is so blatantly co-ordinated. The Fail give this appalling campaign their front page immediately before the U turn and then the qualified revision. The plan seems to be to table the legislation without trans inclusion, Labour then table the amendment and the right wing press then basically make trans rights Labour's "problem" ("Kier Starmer wants you to shower next to a bloke" etc) thus leading to colossal Labour in-fighting and endless Fail headlines while the Tories sell-off the NHS on pages 44-45.

I know a lot of MPs dont actually live in their constituency but this is a bit much :D

Rishi Sunak was an MP for 6.5 years, a UK government minister for 3.5 years and Chancellor of the Exchequer for 1.5 years - all while holding permanent residency of the United States.

If that's not grounds for resignation, I don't know what is.

I bet Sajid has got his office packed up already.

I repeat:
Rishi is a non-starter for PM. This is probably just the tip of the iceberg.

It's time Keir puts it into fifth gear now
Let's go girls

Why can’t she amend her 2020-21 return to remove the claim for that year?

How did it take the left wing media this long to discover all this about Rishi anyway?

As much as I am delighting in Sunak’s downfall, it essentially guarantees Liz Truss as the next Tory leader :zombie:

Sunak is a miserable bean counter who is happy to finish off Osborne’s assault on public services but Truss represents the dark timeline for trans people in particular.

Sadly I no longer think Boris is in much danger of going before the next election at this point. Maybe if there's a complete wipeout at the council elections, but I think the Ukraine situation has really shored him up.
