2nd: Eye Cue - Lost & Found (144pts)
The concept of Xenomania at Eurovision isn't one that's been tested very often at Eurovision, and it's sadly possible that Eye Cue demonstrate why. On record this could have been pulled from the tracklisting of
Out of Control, but the curiously stop-start structure is a bad, bad fit for a 3 minute live performance. It didn't help that the visuals featured a grinning egg-man and THAT FUCKING DISGUSTING DRESS.
An unfortunate but entirely explicable bomb... Stick to the Spotify version.

1st: Jana Burčeska - Dance Alone (183pts)
I'm guessing you all voted based on the studio versions then.
At the risk of doing a Kala style name drop frenzy, I'm friendly with one of the guys on the Macedonian delegation. After watching a few rehearsals in Kyiv, I sincerely suggested that it might sound better if they put her own vocals a bit higher in the mix rather than drowning her out so much on the verses. He just looked aghast and shook his head.
On record, a Little Boots-esque treat. Live, a complete catastrophe on every level. What even is that dancing she's doing at the halfway point? To nick a line from Sheena on 80s icon Mandy Smith, she truly looks like she's never held a microphone before in her life.
A fabulous track though, but [Dannii Minogue face] IS THIS A SINGING CONTEST?
