I am possibly looking at this with rose tinted glasses, but once all these venues open again I would think they are going to be REINVIGORATED. Going to a restaurant off the cuff, or popping to the local for a refreshment or 3 is something we have took for granted. Now we can’t I am hoping we will appreciate the hospitality sector a lot more when it does return.
 
I'm getting a coronavirus related email from every single site I ever registered, even discogs reminding me they are still running despite the pandemia. :square: But I guess it's just an excuse to remind people that probably forgot about their place. So I was wondering if the Administration sent a email to everyone reminding them we are here, just in case some posters, out of curiosity, might come back. They probably don't have much else to do now.

Just did weekly shop. It was fine. A few of the usual suspect things missing but otherwise got what I wanted. Turns out the things I buy nobody else does.
 
Working from home is proving to not be logistically possible for a lot of companies now. Their networks are so slow with so many people trying to log on all day every day. It just wasn’t built for it. We’re trying to set it up but even for the self isolating people this week which is only half of what could be on next week, they haven’t been able to be very productive.
 
Just passed through town. About half of the venues were closed by my reckoning. Streets were deadly. Very very weird.
 
Although I get the economic reasons I just don’t get the logic why if you’re closing places to fight a health pandemic why you wouldn’t close offices and restrict people’s movements too.

My sister and her husband have arrived in Manchester, and are staying there tonight and travelling back to Aberdeen by train tomorrow. What an absolute NIGHTMARE.
 
We didn't learn from Italy, and it seems UK isn't learning from us (or France, Germany...). We had those numbers 1 week ago, and being in total lockdown we have 200 deaths per day now. Good luck.
 
Well, when I say total lockdown... take a quick look at this video, 3rd biggest city in Spain, the exits from Valencia collapsed by people going to their beach house for the weekend. :square: I hope coronavirus put these idiots first in its list.

 
Norway also banned going to a cottage outside your own municipality. hah!

they better not do the same here though...
 
spent the day watching the matrix trilogy with a couple of friends yesterday as they announced harsher lockdown measures (you can't enter without being registered here or leave unless you're registered as living somewhere else). this caused a panic amongst them i found quite inexplicable. omg! what are we gonna do until the 23rd of march!

i don't understand why people are obsessing over timing. it's all touch and go at this moment and we should all be prepared for the worst-case scenario, i.e. not going out at all for a couple of weeks. ffs it's been a week since bars and cinemas and gyms shut down and everyone is already mental.

Nope. I could do MY work from home, but we're quite a hands on team and unfortunately have enough fuckwits who aren't capable of doing their job without their hands being held through the process, that they can't be trusted to work unsupervised. At times it's worse than being a school teacher.

The network would probably come to a halt if everyone worked from home too. It was fine logging on for a Saturday, but who knows what it's like at 10am on a Monday?
 
I'll probably go into the office for one more week. And maybe the monday morning after that, to meet my new starter :D

After that, we've got a whole host of new VPN connections online. So should be fine.

A guy who left our place last week was due to start with his new job on Monday - they said they'd cancelled the training because of what was going on...and sent him home on full pay for 3 weeks! Clue, it wasn't Cineworld or Topshop.
 
I'd be interested to know the possibilities of a reinfection with this virus. This whole thing has exposed so many nations' flaws.
 
I assume dentists are staying open still? I'm starting to get some (currently mild) toothache where I had root canal last year and of course that's setting the anxiety right off.
 
It feels like today it’s all gone QUIET.

Though I can still see hundreds of people walking along the seafront from my sofa :manson:
 
Oooh I’ve got the dentist next week and I’d entirely forgotten.
 
I have a chemical peel booked for a fortnight or so and I'm torn between taking note of their precautions and my own and therefore going with it and cancelling it. I want to support them because they're a local business who have been a genuine help to me over the last 4 years or so. It's a toughie.
