In the know? Nobody knows anything, certainly not this government! They can't plan a date for easing the lockdown until new cases are in clear and steep decline, ditto deaths and there are learnings from other European countries like Italy about reopening.

I just thought it was strange as her test was booked 19th March and she has just got an email now regarding a new date. It all seems a tad pointless to send another date to all cancelled tests to then reschedule them again. Gives them something to do I suppose.

Only time will tell.
 
I don't think we're coming out of lockdown until the end of May. They may be able to ease one or two minor things on the review around May 7th if that is indeed the date and then lift further 3 weeks after that but there will be restrictions of some sort going on for several months.
 
things are looking better than expected here so the planned gradual re-opening tomorrow will be expanded...

Though this is Manchester suburbs. Maybe different in the city centre !
 
The fact that, beyond going for a daily run, the only way to go out is to go to the supermarket means that I have fully embraced my inner Nigella and I'm cooking elaborate meals every evening. I am turning into a full blown seasoning & marinating queen. Sometimes I even start marinating meat in the early afternoon. Fuck restaurants. I certainly don't miss shelling out 30 euros for a reheated steak haché and haricots verts.
 
We paid £30 for burger and chips to be delivered at the weekend via Deliveroo. It was worth every fucking penny.

Where's a girl supposed to get PRESERVED LEMONS at a time like this?
 
I noticed Next did a sneaky reopen, claiming that their warehouses have now been made socially distant and will only take as many orders are they can fulfil whilst remaining within the capacity that the scaled down operation can managed.

They were shut again within three hours.
 
We've been cooking as normal. At least half our meals are prepared each week anyway.
 
Delivery is just too expensive, I don’t want to pay $10 more for delivery and tip (or I can’t afford to do it on the long run). I miss cheap god knows what meat is in it Chinese food.
 
I have not even popped in to the nearest city which is about 12 miles away and have turned in to a right country bumpkin. I am not quite at the tweed and welly stage YET.

did they shut because of bad publicity or was it because demand was so high?

Amazon (yes I know they're awful but needs must)! I recently ordered two jars - pretty good quality as it happens :disco:

what do you cook with SAID LEMONS? I always go with lamb or if the old shakshouka needs a FRESH TOUCH

We're veggie, so no lamb but I tend to throw them into veggie stews/tagines etc.

Have never tried them with shakshouka - but thanks for the idea :disco:
 
Reports of opening schools in May to revive the economy.

On the one hand I see that as integral to getting things moving but on the other it just seems so very soon.
 
Yeah, I heard this in work on Monday - they want to send the kids back to school at the end of May for the last month of term. I ignored it because it sounded like idle speculation but it does seem there was something in it.
 
I saw an article this morning calling people you're stuck indoors with your "quaranteam-mates" and now I feel ill.
