Bullies should be called out and not promoted. She’s disgusting and Boris even more so.

The irony is that even the far right that she loves to pander to actually find her ineffective. And that’s because her department is a revolving door and no one wants to work for a bully.
 
Could she possibly be desperately talking up her 'achievements' with a big fat redundancy notice hanging over her door once the new leader is announced? :side-eye:

What's her relationship like with Truss and Sunak anyway? Has she ever said who she backed?

I'd be surprised if she didn't back Truss, but I'm not sure she went public with it. Basically all the ERG already backed her anyway (which is why she didn't run in the end), so it wouldn't have made much difference.

His comments may be trending, but they've been taken out of context.

Boris Johnson has finally spoken up about the cost of living crisis, although even his well-intentioned speech has not landed among his online critics.

But, the clip going viral on Twitter has been taken out of context.

What happened?​

On Thursday, during his final public speech as the prime minister, Johnson was praising the virtues of nuclear power.

He said he would be assigning £700 million funding for a new nuclear plant to improve the UK’s energy security, and tried to explain how it might seem more expensive now to install but it would pay off in the long-run.
He claimed that if Hinkley Point C nuclear power station (in Somerset) were running now, it would be cutting “our national fuel bills by £3 billion”.
He explained: “Nuclear always looks – when you begin – relatively expensive to build and to run, But look at what’s happening today, look at the results of Putin’s war. It is certainly cheap by comparison with hydrocarbons.”
He then made this analogy: “If you have an old kettle that takes ages to boil, it may cost you £20 to replace it, but it will save you £10 a year every year, on your electricity bill.”
However, this last sentence was taken out of context on social media, and was widely mocked for appearing like real, cost of living advice.

Genuinely depressing that the people who tweeted it have left their viral clips up without context. I mean, he's a fucking cunt and deserves all the rage, but only for the things he's actually done.

I tend to forget there are left-wing grifters taking things out of context to generate outrage and clicks, as well as all the right wing ones (although the latter have whole news companies at their disposal to do the same, alas, so have far more power.)
 
It says a lot that he didn't realise how that comment would be taken, tho'. It was a poor analogy to make at this time. The carelessness is characteristic of not just his leadership but his life - he cares not a fuck.
 
I think it was more that he can’t even make a cognisant point about it. He keeps stumbling on what he’s saying. It’s like one of his minions shoved it into his speech and said SAY THAT as he’s walking onto the stage. He doesn’t even understand his own point. So cringe.
 
There is a common narrative that Boris has no intention of leaving the stage. He would absolutely stand as Conservative leader and win, when they lose the 2024 election.

Just look at his resignation speech. He's used to coming back. I hope he loses his seat.
