Maybe it's common to have a 'special love for the first child' and that they get many more printed baby photos (same for me, though I've yet to see many of them). However, they don't necessarily end up being the "golden child" and publicly loved for decades no matter what

It's a different case, but Sinéad O'Connor was the golden one and her sister not, yet she got a lot of abuse too. Even Ghislaine Maxwell, she became her notorious father's favourite after the parents realised they neglected her as an infant, and look what became of her.
If Enya did the things Moya did, she would be seen as some nasty thing, both publicly and within the family. Moya gets away with it, praised for "being open" about her past mistakes.
Where the Máires were both unmarried and pregnant at 19-21 (and Moya went to have an abortion) dear Eithne had simply joined the family band, upon Nicky Ryan's suggestion, then the Clannad siblings and uncles treated her lesser; she knew it wasn't worthwhile hanging around with them anymore, if ever. She left the band to begin her own career, and
still couldn't leave without people suggesting it was wrong.
Enya is a scapegoat, and yet still cares for those who let her down.

I rest my case.
